Riding Lessons
Along with beginners and gaited lessons, we are proud to now offer barrel racing lessons! Students will learn the proper riding technique, equipment, and how to hang-on to a fast-turning horse! Barrel Racing students' skills should be advanced to a trot prior to taking lessons. Students may begin as early as 5 years old. Lessons are $40 per hour with discounts given for packages of 5 or more lessons.
The Hitchin Post now offers lessons for a variety of riding disciplines. Beginners have a soft place in our heart. They may start as early as 5 years old. Students will learn basic care of the horse, along with tacking up, hoof care, and riding. Lessons begin in the indoor arena and progress to the outdoor arena and/or trails. Kids aren't the only beginners out there. We have many adults who take lessons too! You are never too old to learn to ride a horse! Beginner lessons are $30 per hour. Discounts are given for packages of 5 or more lessons.
The Hitchin Post now offers lessons on gaited horses. This includes Racking and Tennessee Walking Horses. You may take lessons on your horse or ours. Our instructor is an award winning gaited horse rider and takes great pride in teaching the correct way to ride a gaited horse. Need to brush up on your riding before show season? We can help you!
